Joe Walsh vs Don Felder

Joe Walsh and Don Felder complemented each other beautifully in The Eagles. Nowhere else was it as evident as in Hotel California where they exchanged solos. I want to help settle a question many of us guitarists had back in the day. Who was better? Joe Walsh or Don Felder? I think many of us had that question because of that live Hotel California version that used to get all the airplay on MTV. It’s clearly one of the most recognizable and best guitar solos of all time. Joe and Don traded solos and they both sounded so great; Don with that double neck SG and Joe making all those crazy faces.
I love them both and spent countless hours as a youth trying to cop their licks. Let’s examine a bit of each of their styles. Make sure to comment on who YOU think is best and why.
